Awareness is partnering with Divergence: A Festival of Madness to host an event at Beat Street Café to provide a safe and supportive space for writers.
Mad Poets Canterbury is an Awareness events crew project that has ballooned over the last few years thanks to an awesome crowd of writers, singers, poets and supporters!
The aim of the Mad Poets Canterbury is to create safe, supportive spaces for people to share and listen to writing by the mental health and wider community, where it’s ok to read poems that deal with themes of mental distress, wellbeing and recovery. We know that people will have writing that deals with the themes of recovery and optimism, and the darkness of despair, and writing on both is welcome here.
Koha towards Awareness are appreciated at this event. Tshirts and books may also be available for sale. The cafe bar will be open for purchases.
